Our Spectro grade Dichloromethane from Tedia is also known as Methylene Chloride or DCM. It is a highly purified grade of solvent suitable for almost all analytical instrumentation usage.
Though immiscible in water, it is widely used as a polar solvent. This colorless liquid has a sweet odor and evaporates into the air quickly. It is nonflammable but may emit toxic chloride fumes if exposed to high temperatures. Vapors are narcotic in high concentrations.
Caution: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified Dichloromethane as a human carcinogen since high levels of exposure to the chemical has been proven to cause liver and lung cancer in animals.
For shipping, Dichloromethane is in hazardous materials Class 6: Poison. It only ships to destinations within the 48 contiguous US states using UPS Ground. No air deliveries allowed.
