Sulfamic Acid is sulfuric acid in which an — OH group has been replaced by NH3. It is prepared from urea and fuming sulfuric acid.
In the gold recovery process, Sulfamic Acid is frequently used to remove excess nitric acid from Aqua Regia solutions (denoxing).
